About

Movement Foundations Build strength, confidence, and understanding — from the ground up Movement Foundations is a small group programme designed for people who want to start strength training but feel unsure where to begin. It’s for anyone who feels intimidated by gyms, hasn’t done much strength training before, or has tried in the past but struggled to stay consistent. This isn’t about pushing yourself to exhaustion or trying to keep up with others. It’s about learning how to move well, build strength safely, and understand what you’re doing. Across the programme, you’ll be guided through the key movement patterns that form the basis of strength training. You’ll learn how to use equipment with confidence, how to train at a level that works for you, and how to build strength in a gradual, supported way. Alongside the sessions, there’s also a focus on helping you understand how to continue beyond the programme. This includes simple guidance around fuelling your body, structuring your training, and knowing what actually matters when it comes to getting stronger and staying consistent. Sessions are delivered in a calm, supportive environment, with plenty of guidance and no pressure to “keep up”. The programme runs over six weeks in a small group setting at The Nest. Before starting, you have the option to attend a taster session so you can experience how it works and see if it feels right for you. By the end of the programme, the aim is not just that you’ve exercised, but that you feel more confident, stronger, and clear on how to continue. This is not about quick fixes. It’s about building strength in a way that feels sustainable, realistic, and right for you.
