50 People Showed Up This To Run & Reset September Edition!
Updated: Sep 20
There’s something pretty special about watching this grow.
This morning, 50 people turned up for Run & Reset.
Some came to run. Some came to run walk. Some came to walk. Some came with friends and some came on their own.
And somewhere along the route, the runners met the walkers.
I watched everyone coming together and had one of those little moments where I thought, this is it.
This is exactly what I wanted Run & Reset to be.
It was never really about creating another running club.
It was about creating somewhere people could turn up without worrying about pace, distance or whether they were “a runner”.
Somewhere you can move your body, get outside, meet people, have a chat and leave feeling a little bit better than when you arrived.
Different paces. One community.
One of my favourite things about Run & Reset is seeing people doing the same morning completely differently.
At one end we have people who love running and want to get some miles in.
We have people building their confidence with running.
We have run walkers.
And we have people who would much rather have a good walk and a chat.
Nobody is doing it wrong.
Today, watching those groups come back together reminded me why that matters.
You don’t have to keep up.
You don’t have to prove anything.
You just have to turn up.
It takes people to make this happen
I also need to say a massive thank you to the people who help me make these mornings happen.
Our volunteers give their time, lead groups, encourage people and help create the atmosphere that makes Run & Reset feel like Run & Reset.
I genuinely couldn’t do it without them.
And Theresa finally managed to get some photos and videos today, so after all these events we actually have evidence that she does actually know how to use her phone 😂
And now it’s growing beyond the events
Something else has come out of Run & Reset that I really love.
People are finding people.
They’re meeting someone at one of our mornings and realising they live nearby, run at a similar pace or are training for the same sort of thing.
And with winter approaching, I know a lot of us don’t particularly want to head out running alone in the dark. I prefer running with company regardless.
So I’m setting up Run & Reset | Run Together, a private group for members of our community to arrange runs with each other outside of the organised Run & Reset sessions.
If you’re heading out, you can pop your day, time, distance and pace in the group and see who fancies joining you.
It won’t be another organised or coached session.
It’s simply another way to help people connect and move together.
Because maybe that’s what Run & Reset is becoming.
Not just an event you come to once a month.
A community that helps you keep moving in between.
Fifty people showed up this morning.
And I’m incredibly grateful that they did.
Thank you to every single person who walked, ran, volunteered, chatted, encouraged someone else or simply turned up and gave it a go.
This little community is becoming something really special.
Run. Walk. Breathe. Connect. Reset.
See you at the next one 💚
