A new ADHD-informed version of the Movement Foundations programme is launching at The Box at The Nest. This programme is designed to support individuals who want to build strength but find traditional gyms overwhelming or difficult to stick with. Delivered by Vicki Hall, Movement & Strength Coach, these sessions have been developed with an understanding of how ADHD can impact motivation, focus, and consistency when it comes to exercise.
A Different Approach to Starting Strength Training
Many people want to move more or get stronger, but find typical gym environments challenging. Busy spaces, loud music, unclear structure, and not knowing what to do can quickly become overwhelming. These sessions are designed to remove those barriers.
What Makes These Sessions ADHD-Informed
The sessions are structured to support focus, reduce overwhelm, and make training feel more manageable. This includes:
Simple, clear exercise structure
Calm, low-pressure environment
Small group coaching for support and guidance
Repetition and routine to build familiarity
Flexible coaching that responds to energy and focus levels
The aim is to make movement feel accessible, not another thing to struggle with.
What the Sessions Focus On
Participants will be guided through sessions that focus on:
Learning how to move well
Building strength safely
Improving coordination and control
Developing confidence in a gym-style environment
Understanding simple ways to support energy and nutrition
A Supportive Space to Begin
These sessions are not about intensity or pushing limits. They are about creating a space where you can start, build consistency, and feel supported without pressure.
Delivered at The Nest
The sessions take place at The Box at The Nest, a community space that provides a quieter and more accessible alternative to traditional gym environments.
Start with a Free Taster Session
Free taster sessions are available for those who would like to experience the sessions before committing. This gives you the opportunity to see how the sessions work and whether they feel like the right fit.
Why Movement Matters
Movement is essential for our overall well-being. It helps us feel better physically and mentally. Engaging in regular activity can boost our mood, improve focus, and enhance our quality of life. For those who may struggle with traditional fitness settings, finding a supportive and understanding environment can make all the difference.
Building Strength and Confidence
Strength training is not just about lifting weights; it’s about building confidence. When we learn to move our bodies effectively, we gain a sense of accomplishment. This can be particularly empowering for those who have felt out of place in traditional fitness environments.
Nutrition and Energy Support
Understanding how to support your energy levels through nutrition is also a key part of these sessions. Simple, practical advice on eating well can help you feel more energised and ready to move.
Join a Community of Support
In these sessions, you won’t be alone. You’ll be part of a community that understands your journey. The small group setting allows for personal attention and encouragement.
